A powerboat racing around the Isle of Wight, and the two people on board, had to be rescued by a Cowes RNLI crew and a second boat, today (Saturday).

The charity RNLI team was training when they were called to the aid of a boat taking on water, at The Needles.
Before the lifeboat crew reached the scene, another boat had pumped out the water.
The RNLI crew then escorted the powerboat and its occupants to Lepe, where Hamble lifeboat took over escort duties to Southampton Water.
