WHEN you are out and about around the Isle of Wight this coming week, be sure to know which roadworks to avoid. Here are some of them worth noting:

NEWPORT: Briddlesford Road will shut during marking works, between its junctions with Newport bridleway 155b and Long Lane, over one shift sometime between Monday and Wednesday.

Also, Whitcombe Road will close during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Newport bridleways 108 and 109, over one shift sometime between Wednesday and Friday. 

Nelson Road will shut during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Winston Road and Linden Road, over one shift sometime between Wednesday and Friday, May 24.

Downs Road will close during utility works, between its junctions with Downend Road and Newport Shute, from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Friday, May 24. 

Alternative routes will be signposted.

SHANKLIN: Atherley Road will close during drainage works, between its junctions with Wilton Park Road and St Paul’s Crescent, over three shifts sometime between Monday and Wednesday. An alternative route will be signposted.

CARISBROOKE: Kinchington Road will shut during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Purdy Road and Wellington Road, over one shift between Monday and Wednesday. An alternative route will be signposted.

BRADING: Lower Road will close during carriageway repair works, between its junctions with The Mall and Brading footpath 48, over one shift sometime between Tuesday and Thursday. An alternative route will be signposted.

GODSHILL: Bobberstone Lane will shut during carriageway repair works, along its entire length, over two shifts sometime between Tuesday and Thursday. An alternative route will be signposted.

NITON: Laceys Lane will close during drainage works, between its junctions with The Greenway and Howard Close, over three shifts sometime between Wednesday and Friday, May 24. An alternative route will be signposted.

Also, Castlehaven Lane will shut during utility works, along its entire length, from 8am on Tuesday until 4pm on Tuesday, May 28. There is no alternative route signposted.

EAST COWES: Beatrice Avenue will shut during arboricultural works, between its junctions with Saunders Way and East Cowes footpath 25, over one shift on Friday, May 24. An alternative route will be signposted.

COWES: Sun Hill will close during utility works, along its entire length, from 7am on Monday until 6pm on Wednesday, May 29. An alternative route will be signposted.

Also, Park Road will shut during utility works, between its junctions with Princes Street and Firs Close, from 9am on Thursday until 5pm on Friday, May 24.

WHITWELL: Nettlecombe Lane will shut during utility works, along its entire length, from 8am on Monday until 4pm on Friday, June 7. There is no alternative route.
