A popular Isle of Wight event is returning today.

Discovery Bay is a one-stop shop of all things nature, wildlife, science and community, with the spotlight on Sandown, where the event will take place.

In celebration of the Isle of Wight Biosphere, the event is free for everyone to enjoy.

It is funded by The Common Space, Hullabaloo and Island Nature, and takes place at Browns Golf Course and green space by the sea.

It promises wildlife activities and creativity for all ages, and the chance to learn more about biodiversity in the Bay and the natural world beyond.

There’s a pop-up natural history museum, the National Trust, National Poo Museum all on site, plus a chance to meet the teams at the Wildheart Trust and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Among the other groups there will be the Red Squirrel Trust and Wight Coast Fossils, with a hint of Hullabaloo thrown in by Shademakers carnival artists.

There’ll also be a spot of Community Sports Action.

Island Nature will be collecting suggestions for how to support wildlife on the Island, so everyone can get a chance to contribute to the Isle of Wight’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy.

Discovery Bay takes place on Saturday, May 18, from 10am to 4pm.

Refreshments will be available from the new PLUTO cafe at Browns.
