THERE will be quite a spectacle on The Solent when Cunard's new luxury cruise liner, the Queen Anne, passes the Isle of Wight today (Tuesday).
The stunning 3,000-passenger liner will be heading into Southampton tomorrow afternoon. She was originally due to arrive there at 3pm but a change in schedule now means it may be nearer 8pm.
Cunard’s newest ship, and the fourth in their current fleet and the 249th ship in its history, will pass the Isle of Wight early afternoon, which will be seen in the East Wight and across the north of the Island.
The best vantage points to see the 113,000 tonne Queen Anne will be on Culver Down, Bembridge, Appley, East Cowes, Cowes and Gurnard.
The Queen Anne, with 14 decks, is due to set sail from Southampton on her maiden voyage, to Lisbon, Portugal, on Friday, May 3.
With the Queen Anne due to set sail at 9.15pm, today will be your only chance to see her before she makes her first voyage.
She is the first of a series of cruises to historic Mediterranean cities, the Caribbean islands and the Norwegian fjords during Queen Anne's first year of operation.
