A MULTI-agency search on the Isle of Wight sparked by reports of concern for the welfare of a man on National Trust downland, proved fruitless.
Police and Solent Coastguard were called at around 5pm yesterday (Sunday), following reports of concern for a man at Tennyson Monument, Freshwater — a well known Island beauty spot.
Officers and coastguard rescue colleagues carried out a thorough search of the area on foot and with the use of a drone, but found no trace of the man reported in that area.
Freshwater Independent Lifeboat had also been called to join the search into the evening.
