AN ELDERLY man seriously injured in a house fire has died.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the fire at a property on Shanklin Road, near Godshill, at around 2am this morning (Sunday).
A man aged in his 90s suffered serious burns and was rushed to St Mary's Hospital in Newport.

Police were called shortly after 2am this morning (Sunday, April 21) by colleagues at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service, informing them of a house fire on Shanklin Road.
The pensioner died in hospital this morning.
Police are preparing a file for the Island coroner.
Fire crews from Shanklin, Newport and Cowes attended the fire, using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.
Two occupants were provided immediate medical support by firefighters and passed into the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Fire investigation officers are working with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary to establish the cause of the blaze.
