The Isle of Wight's dual-carriageway will be closed due to roadworks this evening (Tuesday, April 23).

Contractors Island Roads will be undertaking road marking works from 7.30pm tonight, on Newport's Medina Way (dual-carriageway).

To allow for the work to be carried out, the road will be closed for northbound traffic, between the junctions at Coppins Bridge and Parkhurst Road.

Disruption is expected for motorists travelling out of Newport towards Forest Road and Cowes.

Island Roads is aiming to reopen the road by 6am tomorrow (Wednesday) or sooner if possible.

Diversions will be in place (see below).
