A Totally Locally Magic Tenner event is coming to Newport on the Isle of Wight.

Newport Business Association has signed up to the scheme, which is aimed at getting more people to use their local shops - with some offers and promotions designed to benefit both shoppers and businesses.

The scheme was set to run from May 11 to 26 but has now been postponed until July.

Any businesses not yet signed up are urged to get in touch to be part of the project.

It is free to take part, and all the businesses have to do is come up with a special £10 offer, service or promotion for the two weeks of Magic Tenner to celebrate their business and reward customers.

Guidance and ideas provided are provided. Jo Randall, of Love Running on St James Street, is coordinating the Newport Magic Tenner event.

She is happy to provide participants with all the customisable posters, social media content and instructions, and will be promoting all participating businesses on Facebook.

Magic Tenner is open to any independent shop or business in Newport, Gunville, Carisbrooke and Pan.
