An Isle of Wight man who drove while almost five times the specified drug limit has been banned from the roads.
At the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on April 18, Ryan Lacey, of Ashey Road, Ryde, pleaded guilty to drug driving on Yaverland Road, Sandown, on July 3.
After denying the offence in November last year, he was due to stand trial but changed his plea.
He admitted to being behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Polo with 240ug of Benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, in his blood. The legal limit is 50.
Magistrates handed the 40-year-old an 18 month driving ban.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of £750, £620 in costs, and a £300 surcharge.
