An annual charity walk in aid of Retina UK returns to the Isle of Wight later this month, for its sixth year.

Raising money for those affected by sight loss and blindness, Hope for Seaview is an annual five-mile walk organised by IW group volunteers Colin and Linda McArthur.

Setting off from the Alamo, Ryde at 1pm on April 28, participants are invited to walk, run or skip, to Seaview Duver.

This year, to celebrate the couple's golden wedding anniversary, those taking part are urged to dress up.

From Seaview, walkers will then head back to Ryde, with the event finishing at the King Lud pub.

Colin said: "Our family have been fundraising for over 40 years for this charity as we have the defective genes which cause inherited progressive blindness."

The aim is for people who have lost their sight, to once again 'hope to see the views', Colin said.

All money raised goes to Retina UK, a charity set up to find a cure or treatment for inherited sight loss.
