The Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival (IWMDDF) has come to end for another year, with scores of youngsters and competitors winners celebrating their success.

Lottie Paine, taught by Suzy Morris and Polly MacGregor from the Joel Morris Dance Academy, has reached the regional finals in 11 sections – by scoring over 87 marks – in the All England Dance section of the IWMDDF.
In their final festival together, Lottie and Josie Flack, who are long-term dance partners, came second in the musical theatre duet, with 89 marks.
The pair also placed and qualified their own individual musical theatre solos.
Lottie and Josie teamed up with Ava Cowen for their trios in musical theatre, winning with 88 marks, and modern trio, finishing first with 89 marks.
In the ballet quartet, the girls joined with Beth Morgan-Huws, securing first-place with 88 marks.

The Island’s male barbershop chorus, Wight Harmony, also took part in this year’s IWMDDF, taking part in several classes, winning three and taking home three cups in total.
Wight Harmony won the community choir class with 91 marks, performing two contrasting songs, an arrangement of The Lord’s Prayer followed by ‘I’m Walking’.
Two small groups of eight singers each, Octagon and Island Achord, then sang in the barbershop group class, coming joint in third position.
The choir also won the folk song class, securing 93 marks, and second place with 92 points in the male voice choir class.
Wight Harmony then entered the Barbershop Male Voice Choir class 639 and came joint winners with Solent City Chorus.
The mixed choir – South Island A Capella – sang two songs in the barbershop mixed voices section, winning with their performances of Only You and Rather Me.
Two quartets from Wight Harmony – Participants Exchange and PARR 4 – came joint second in the barbershop quartet.
Sunshine Lorenz, Elkie MacGregor, Kenzie Madden and Thea Vernall came first place in the ten years and under musical theatre trio/quartet, choreographed by Suzy Morris.
Elkie also achieved first place in the seven years ballet solo.
Primrose Redhead, who is a student at Fusion Arts Academy, finished first place in her ballet solo class, receiving the highest mark for a ballet solo for age 11 and under.
