A Newport man and a dog have died following a crash in Calbourne on the Isle of Wight.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are appealing for information and witnesses
Police were called to a single vehicle collision on Calbourne Road at about 10.10pm last night (Sunday, April 7).
This involved a blue Mazda 6, which collided with a tree, officers said.

As previously reported by the County Press, the road was closed between its junctions with Betty Haunt Lane and Elm Lane.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service sent three engines from Newport Fire Station to the scene at 10.18pm. Paramedics also attended.
The driver of the Mazda, a 42-year-old man from Newport, suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene.
His family have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.
A dog was also in the car and was taken to an emergency vet, but had to be put down due to its injuries.
