The Met Office has issued a weather warning for strong winds, likely to bring 'hazardous coastal conditions', on Tuesday.
The warning for the Island will be in place between 1am and 12pm, on April 9.
Forecasters say: "It’s likely some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.
"Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.
"Some short term loss of power and other services is possible."
Gusts are expected to reach 40-50 mph, and as much as 60 mph on exposed coastal spots.
Through Tuesday morning, the wind will ease and change direction, the Met Office says.
Meanwhile for today (Sunday), an Environment Agency flood alert remains in place, for the Isle of Wight's coast.
An update is expected before 4pm.
A high tide combined with gusty winds is expected to see some coast roads hit by floodwater.
