Isle of Wight Police have cordoned off a section of Lake Hill this morning (Saturday) following a serious crash involving a car and a bike.
UPDATE: A cyclist has been taken to hospital for treatment, police have confirmed.
A large emergency service response has police officers and paramedics at the scene.
The incident has resulted in considerable traffic delays, with motorists having to divert.
Police have closed the road on the Broadway, at its junction with The Heights.
The Fairway is also closed, at its junction with Lake Hill, which itself has been cordoned off opposite Tesco Express.
Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary was alerted to the collision at around 9.30am.
