An outdoor auction held at a popular Isle of Wight attraction has been cancelled following concerns about weather conditions.

The HRD Auctions Rooms event, scheduled to take place at Arreton Barns on April 5, has been cancelled due to the 'unsafe state of the field'.

Concerns had been raised that, amid next week's forecast, the field may be unsafe for vehicles.

A HRD Auction Rooms spokesperson said: “It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel our outdoor auction on April 5.

“Consignments will no longer be accepted at the field on Monday (April 1) or Tuesday (April 2), but to discuss entering your outdoor effects into an auction in May, please call the office on 01983 402222.”

HRD Auction Rooms will be back at Arreton Barns, weather permitting, on Friday, September 6.
