A man has been arrested on suspicion of intentional strangulation following an alleged assault in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to Albert Street at 8.26am yesterday morning (Tuesday).
Police received a report that a woman had been assaulted and her phone damaged.
A 31-year-old man from Ventnor has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, using violence to secure entry to a premises, criminal damage, and intentional strangulation.
He remains in custody.
