"A spectacle unlike any other" is coming to the Isle of Wight later this year, with the launch of the Island's first Steampunk Festival.
Organisers say the event promises to be an "extraordinary fusion of innovation and nostalgia".
The idea is the brainchild of Kieron Cooney, whose band Wight Hot Pipes recently headlined one of the world’s biggest Steampunk Festivals in Lincoln.
Kieron said the "sheer splendidness" of Steampunk culture belongs on the Island, and so he decided to launch his own festival.
Together with wife Vicky and charity fundraiser Karen Eeles, Kieron has formed a working group of like-minded enthusiastic Steampunk followers.
Kieron said: "Immerse yourself in a realm where Victorian elegance meets industrial and futuristic innovation.
"Experience a weekend of eccentric fashion, original performances, imaginative fun and captivating entertainment.
"Bring the whole family and take part in the first Isle of Wight Teapot racing contest or try Biscuit Duelling with a surprise golden prize for the winner.
"Dress to impress in your finest steampunk Victorian attire and join us for a weekend of merriment, music, and marvels.
"Why not take part in the closing festival Peacock Parade along Ryde promenade dressed in your Steampunk finery."
Kieron said the event will be supported by local businesses including, including Bar 74, The Star Coffee and Ale House, Dorset Hotel and others.
He is also it will showcase Ryde as a "shining example of a flourishing and exciting Island town with a fascinating Victorian heritage."
The festival is due to be held at Eastern Gardens, Ryde, and in and around other parts of the town, between September 20 and 22.
