Two arrests have been made after a man suffered a laceration to his cheek, following an alleged pub assault.
The incident is suspected to have involved a Stanley knife.
This morning (Monday, March 25), a 45-year-old man was detained on suspicion of intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and making threats to kill.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it was called to reports of an assault at the Three Bishops pub in Brighstone, at 5.22pm yesterday (Sunday, March 24).
Police said there was an altercation in the pub garden between a group of people known to one another and a man was assaulted.
He sustained a laceration to his cheek, suspected to have been caused by a Stanley knife, officers said.
A 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both men remain in custody at this time.
