AN ISLE of Wight man threw bags containing books at his pregnant ex-partner and breached a non-molestation court order.
Liam Saltzer, of Bellevue Road, Cowes, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, March 22.
The 36-year-old had initially denied, but went on to admit assault by beating, in Cowes, on May 27 of last year.
At a previous hearing, he also admitted breaching a non-molestation order, in Ryde, between January 1 and May 28 of last year.
Prosecutor, Liz Miller, told the court he assaulted his ex-partner – the mother of his child – at his home address.
She said he threw two bags containing books at the victim, who was ten weeks pregnant at the time of the offence and worried they could have hit her stomach.
Addressing the court order breach, Ms Miller said he was only permitted to contact the victim via one email address, and only for matters concerning their child, but he sent various messages.
Oscar Vincent, defending, said Saltzer sent the messages when he was feeling particularly low.
He said, on the day of the assault, the victim came to Saltzer’s home and a verbal argument escalated.
Saltzer saw his case adjourned to April 30 at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
