AN ISLE of Wight man will go before a judge later this year, accused of two robberies at Central Stores in Newport.
Daniel Taylor, of Lowtherville Road, Ventnor, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates today (Friday, March 22).
The 30-year-old is charged with two counts of robbery, at Central Stores in Newport, on March 21 of this year.
Mr Taylor is accused of violently reaching over the shop counter, swiping money from the tills, and punching two individuals in the face.
Mr Taylor saw his case adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on April 29.
He was remanded in custody until that date.
Yesterday afternoon (Thursday), officers were called to Newport High Street following a report of a robbery at Central Stores.
A County Press reader spotted around five officers giving chase along Crocker Street and into Halfords car park.
