Medina Community Choir (MCC) has raised a noteworthy £4,000 for two Island charities through their recent musical, Behind the Curtain.
The proceeds were equally split, with the choir director, Hannah Brear, handing £2,000 cheques to the eating disorders team at Community CAMHS and Wight Brainy Bunch.
The show, written by Hannah Brear, showcased a touring troupe of singers at the Jenny Kerry Performing Arts Centre last August.
The 100-member choir was accompanied by an orchestra led by James Longford. MCC continues its fundraising efforts with upcoming Name Drop concerts in July.
Islanders eager to hear the award-winning gospel program before MCC heads on their French tour can catch them at Newport Minster on July 27 at 7pm.
Ms Brear's other choirs, Gurnard Community Choir and The NHS Nightingales are set to perform in June to aid The Wave Project.
Ms Brear said: "Our smaller, incredible Island charities often get overlooked. It’s great to think every penny we raised from eight months of rehearsal work and a week of shows is going directly to the Island residents who need it.
"We have never worked so long or so meticulously on one single project before and the whole experience was a perfect example of a magnificent team effort.
"Everybody who came to see the show was blown away. It was a little piece of all of us on that stage and the fact we raised so much money for our charities was the cherry on the cake."
