A FINE art exhibition and auction in aid of an Isle of Wight charity which enables people with physical disabilities to go sailing, will be held next month.
The Fairwinds Art Exhibition and Opening Night Auction fundraiser, with all monies going to the Andrew Cassell Foundation, will be held at Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday, April 26.
The Cowes-based Foundation supports individuals with physical disabilities to compete inclusively in sailing.
The fundraiser commences at 6.30pm, with an auction at 7.30pm.
How to get tickets for the fundraiser
Tickets are available online via www.acfsailing.org/artshow
The exhibition will also be accessible to the public on Saturday, April 27, and on Sunday, April 28.
The event is the brainchild of the late John Garlick, a passionate art aficionado and sailing enthusiast.
Sue Garlick, John’s wife, said: "I have enjoyed getting to know the amazing artists, whilst raising funds for Island causes.
"The first event in 2022 raised over £4,000 for the Foundation. This year we hope to exceed it."
Local businesses and 13 Island artists have contributed.
Artist, Peter Allen, said: "It’s a huge effort to provide over ten pieces of original artwork each for the event.
"All the Island artists kindly donated one artwork each for auction and artworks for general sale, with 10 per cent of the proceeds going to the Foundation."
