AN ISLE of Wight man caught drink driving an Alfa Romeo on the mainland has been banned from the road.
The case of Alan Knowles, of Cockleton Lane, Cowes, was heard before Hereford magistrates on Monday, March 11.
The 62-year-old admitted drink driving, and driving without insurance, in Hereford, on February 17 of last year.
The court heard he drove an Alfa Romeo on Belmont Road, registering a breath-alcohol reading of 55 when the legal limit is 35.
Knowles was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £262.
He was ordered to pay costs of £135 and a £105 surcharge.
