Isle of Wight Jazz Weekend 2024 has announced its line-up and US-based Nate Najar, from Florida and Brazil's Daniela Soledade will perform.
One of the south coast’s most popular jazz festivals, the Isle of Wight Jazz Weekend has been running since 2012 and attracts some of the best names in the genre.
This year, the fan and volunteer-run event will kick off on September 18, with an appearance by double bassist and vocalist, Nicola Farnon, and her trio.
On September 19, Cameron Rossi, originally from the Island, will bring his London-based quartet to Mountbatten.
On September 20, Quay Arts will host Jon Thorne’s Shades of Ellington and Gary Plumley’s Alleycats, as well as a jazz DJ and jam session.
Also appearing will be the Matt Carter Octet - described as 'one of the most exciting young bands in today’s UK jazz scene'.
On September 21, brunch to the sounds of Muse Manouche will be followed by seven-piece Dixieland and vintage jazz specialists, Windy City Weatherbirds.
There is also a welcome return for the Nick Page Trio, who proved popular on the fringe in 2023.
Trumpeter and vocalist Georgina Jackson, from the Ronnie Scott’s jazz orchestra, will entertain with her seven-piece Sass and Brass show, featuring top names including Karen Sharp and Matt Skelton.
Piano legend David Newton will play a rare solo piano concert.
Organisers say it is "a wonderful chance to see the intimate wizardry of a musician who has won multiple awards, over a highly distinguished career."
Fans will also be able to enjoy Tony Kofi and his Inside Straight quintet, dedicated to the works of Cannonball Adderley.
This year also sees the return of Newport Minster as a venue, following its refurbishment.

The Apollo Theatre and Newport Methodist Church will also throw open their doors.
Festival Director Jim Thorn says there will also be an extended fringe programme, with full details to be announced.
On September 22, guitarist Tom Ford and his new trio will perform at Quay Arts.
Three all-star projects will wrap-up the weekend: Shades of Shearing at the Apollo Theatre, dedicated to the work of George Shearing; David Newton on piano with long-time friend and musical sparring partner, Alan Barnes; and world-class vocalist Claire Martin OBE, accompanied by Jim Mullen on guitar and Adam King on bass.
