A landslip in St Lawrence on the Isle of Wight has closed a road and prompted fears for properties.
Update: The Isle of Wight Council has released a statement
A landslide has affected at least two homes on Hunts Road and Old Park Road.
The County Press has been told land below Undercliff Drive moved overnight.
A driveway at the front of a property on Hunts Road has sunk and cracks have appeared.
Attempts are being made to get the homeowner's vehicle off the drive.
Island Roads and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) are in attendance.
It's understood the landslip has severed an underground power line on Hunts Road.
A generator is in operation while SSEN engineers carry out repairs.
Further along the road, a fallen tree has smashed onto a car, although it is unclear whether this is from the most recent landslip.
On Old Park Road, below Hunts Road, cracks are appearing in the road and at least one property is believed to be affected.
Island Roads has closed part of Old Park Road, between Woolverton Road and Hunts Road.
The Isle of Wight Council has told the County Press it is aware of the landslip and has spoken to affected residents.
A spokesperson said: “The council has been on site supporting the residents and building control have visited affected properties and advised residents.”
