A MOTORCYCLIST was injured during a main road crash near East Cowes this afternoon (Friday).

Isle of Wight police were called to the scene on Mount Road at around 1.30pm.

They had received reports of a minor-injury collision involving a motorbike and a van.

The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries, police have confirmed.

Significant traffic delays were reported, and motorists were advised to avoid the area for a time.

The County Press understands the road has since been cleared and traffic is flowing once again.
