A FUNDRAISER has been launched for an Isle of Wight man who sustained a traumatic brain injury during a freak accident in his own home.

On January 29 of last year, Craig Teasdale’s life changed.

The 42-year-old fell down a set of stairs at his home address, resulting in life-changing injuries.

Craig, of Ryde, was put on life support, and following several operations, he remains at St Mary’s Hospital undergoing rehabilitation, learning to eat, speak, and walk again.

He will be looking to return home in the months ahead, and has since learned there is a 12-month wait to get a wet room and other facilities installed at his property.

“It’s certainly been a very long road at times, but to see where he is today is incredible,” said Craig’s GoFundMe page organiser, Sally Farley.

“Craig continues to make progress every day, and his sheer determination and zest for life is remarkable and humbling to see.

“Hundreds of offers of help were received on social media at the time, but nothing could be done, other than hope and pray.

“When Craig is ready for the next step in his journey, which will be to return home, for this to happen, some adjustments and modifications are needed for him to continue to improve.

“Now is the time when we need your help.

“Craig needs his bathroom adapted, and a walk-in shower installed, so he can continue to wash and shower easily and be as independent as possible.

“With your help raising money, we hope to provide this for him, as well as other changes around the home to aid in his rehabilitation.
