AN ISLE of Wight man accused of hoarding more than 1,000 images - including hundreds showing sexual abuse of children will go before a judge later this year.
Karl Kimber, of High Street, Ryde, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, March 5.
The 46-year-old is charged with distributing indecent photographs of children, in Ryde, possession of prohibited images of children, in Shanklin, and three counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of children, in Shanklin.
The charges relate to dates between January 1, 2022, and October 16, 2022.
He is accused of making 416 Category A moving and still images of a child (the worst kind), 278 Category B images of a child, and 419 Category C images of a child.
He is also accused of possessing 152 prohibited images of a child.
Mr Kimber did not enter or indicate a plea.
Mr Kimber saw his case adjourned to April 8 for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.
He was granted unconditional bail until that date.
