Of five people arrested, following a report of shoplifting at a Co-op in Rookley, one person has been charged and one was released with no further action.
Hampshire and IW Constabulary was called to the shop on Main Road, on Tuesday, March 5, at around 4pm.
Maddy Allan-Willshire, 20, of Godric Road, Newport, has been charged with theft and was bailed to appear before magistrates on March 26.
A 16-year-old, from Rookley, detained on suspicion of theft, has been bailed until June 5.
A 21-year-old woman from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of theft and of failing to comply with a community protection notice, and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
A 24-year-old man from Dorking, Surrey, was detained on suspicion of handling stolen goods and has been released under investigation, while enquiries continue.
A 21-year-old Newport woman, arrested on suspicion of theft, has been released and will face no further action.
