Ryde Town Council is launching a community garden project, aimed at offering residents an escape to engage with nature.
This green initiative, undertaken in alliance with Riboleau Studios and Aspire Ryde, aspires to be more than just a garden.
It's a hands-on learning experience for primary school pupils and their families and, with the support of Ryde School students, the project is progressing towards a spring opening.
However, there's much still to be done and the council is inviting all residents to engage in a garden blitz on March 23.
Alison Pearce, community development officer said: "Our goal is to create a space that fosters community engagement, promotes sustainable living, and provides educational opportunities for all. Your enthusiasm and willingness to contribute are all that's needed to make this project a success. Whether you're passionate about gardening or simply eager to lend a hand, we welcome your participation."
The event comprising setup of a polytunnel, pruning, weeding, and general garden preparation.
Those interested in volunteering on March 23 or for future opportunities should drop an email to community@rydetowncouncil.gov.uk or call 07496 382950.
