A lost dog picked up by the Isle of Wight Council dog service has remained unclaimed for several  days.

Now, the council has appealed to anyone with information to come forward.

The brown Staffie crossbreed was picked up on Thursday, February 29, in Newport.

However staff have been unable to trace the dog's owners, and its situation remains a mystery.

An appeal has gone out.
