COASTGUARD rescue volunteers captured superb images of the medical rescue of a walker on the Isle of Wight's highest point.

Multiple emergency rescue teams were called to St Boniface Down, Ventnor, yesterday afternoon (Saturday).

Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT) posted photos of Coastguard Rescue helicopter 175 from Lee-on-the-Solent, which assisted them, on X (formerly Twitter).
The Ventnor CRT and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service also took part in the operation.
Bembridge CRT were called out at 2.48pm, with the rescue helicopter scrambled to assist shortly afterwards in the medical evacuation of a walker from the southern side of St Boniface Down, to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to St Mary's Hospital, Newport.
