POPULAR Isle of Wight seafront pub The Millbay in Ventnor will be making a big change to its restaurant area.

The family-friendly pub and dining venue on the Esplanade, recently renovated, will be turning the restaurant into a fish and chip shop. 

The Millbay, who run a successful Sunday carvery, will transform the dining area into a chippy, with dine in or takeaway options available.  

To dispel local rumour about the business, the business's Facebook page states the staff will still be serving food from The Millbay menu, including a Sunday roast, but Mothers Day, on Sunday, March 10, will be the final carvery served there.

The Millbay also have a new Facebook page in the offing.
