Ventnor Flower Club is celebrating 60 years and it chose an afternoon party, at Albert Cottage in East Cowes, to mark the anniversary.
On February 22, members gathered to enjoy a meal and a cake, and to hear from a speaker.
The group meets every fourth Thursday of the month, 2pm at Whitwell Village Hall.
At their anniversary gathering, there were prizes for some of the members.
Carole Jacobs won the senior advanced award, as well as most gold, most points overall and the joint judges' choice.
Pip Bensley, chair of the local region, presented the awards.
Virginia Christie won advanced and Joanna Donbavand won the intermediate and joint judges' choice.
President Carole Jacobs was pleased to read some of the 60th anniversary cards, sent to the group, including from Northwood Floral Art Group, the Island Flower Club, the West Wight Flower Club and from NAFAS’ national chair.
Member, Joyce Morgan, 94, who has enjoyed 34 years with the group, was unable to attend the party but sent her congratulations.
Meetings involve fun workshops and expert demonstrations and members enjoy plant sales, cream teas, ploughman’s lunches, as well as day trips.
New members are welcome and are promised fun, friendship, flowers and food, according to the club's motto.
Suzette McColl said: "Keeping the club going this long is quite an achievement."
Donations from club members have helped support the Hampshire and IW Air Ambulance and IW defibrillators.
