After nearly two decades, the landlords of a popular Isle of Wight pub are bidding a fond farewell.
Duncan and Kate Scott, from Medina Railway Tavern, Newport, will pull their last pint this month (March).
The couple have been at the helm for 17 and a half years but say they're now looking forward to spending time with their family, without the stress of running a pub.
Duncan told the County Press: "Working in a pub is a lifestyle choice rather than a job.
"It really is seven days a week, 365 days a year so to speak."
Duncan, 51, has been in the hospitality sector for around 30 years.
He spent around six months at the Bargeman's Rest, Newport, as well as the Steamer Inn, Shanklin for five years.
Before that, he was the manager of the Eight Bells, Carisbrooke for about seven years.
Some of the memorable moments from his pub career include working at the Railway, on Sea Street, every year during the Isle of Wight Festival.
"It's very very busy here and it's always really good.
"It's a community-led pub and nearly all of the customers we know by name.
"It's the locals really, that's what we'll miss."
Duncan said the pair are looking forward to spending more time with each other.
As for the Railway, Duncan said it's hoped new tenants will take over in the near future.
