Photos show the extent of a cliff fall, which has blocked steps leading from a clifftop footpath to a popular Isle of Wight seafront promenade in Shanklin.
As previously reported by the Isle of Wight County Press, the steps connecting Littlestairs Road to the Sandown to Shanklin promenade have been completely blocked by a cliff fall.
The steps, which were popular with Island dog walkers, have become just the latest victim of the Island’s crumbling coastline.
See video from the scene below.
At the top of the cliff, on the cliff path near the Blueberrys cafe on Sandown Road, the footpath has been cordoned off.
At the base of the cliff, the steps on the promenade have also been tapped off to the public.

The promenade was due to be closed on March 4 for the start of essential improvements and safety works by the Isle of Wight Council.
The planned work will involve clearing cliff fall debris from the walkway and improving areas where there is water constantly flowing across the promenade.
SSE will also carry out ‘essential works’ along the revetment - starting the same date - and has imposed a three-week closure using its emergency powers, the council previously advised.
