A popular Isle of Wight pub is among businesses hit by a power cut after a tree fell on a power line in a rural village.

The power cut was reported to Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) at around 9pm yesterday (Sunday, February 25).

Around 72 homes and businesses in the Rookley area are estimated to be affected by the outage.

UPDATE: Power has since been restored to the area and The Chequers Inn will open at 2pm.
