An Isle of Wight woman, found to be driving while over the limit on a cocktail of drugs, has been banned from the roads for three years.
Sian Parsons, of High Street, Godshill, attended the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Friday, February 23, after previously pleading guilty to four counts of drug driving.
Lauren Stone, prosecuting, said police officers stopped the 37-year-old on Pan Lane, Newport, at 10.20am on August 20, due to an issue with the lights on her Mini.
Ms Stone told the court Parsons underwent roadside tests as part of normal police procedure, and a DrugWipe showed positive for cocaine.
At Newport Police Station, further blood tests showed she was over the drug-drive limit, on four counts, for cannabis derivative THC, twice over the limit for both cocaine and morphine, and 16 times over the limit for BZE, a derivative of cocaine.
Parsons was handed a 12-month driving ban on September 15, 2023, following another drug-drive incident in June of the same year.
Oscar Vincent, defending, said he did not need to address the bench further, as he was in full agreement with the sentence suggestion in his client’s pre-sentence report.
Magistrates handed Parsons a three-year driving ban and a 12-month community order to include a drug rehabilitation programme.
Parsons must also pay a £114 surcharge, £85 in costs and a £80 fine.
