A manhunt is underway after a Mini driver 'fled' the scene of a two-car crash on a main Isle of Wight road this evening (Monday, February 19).
Emergency teams are at the Niton Road S-bend near Godshill, between Roud Road and Chequers Inn Road, following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
A Mini Cooper was involved in the collision, with the other vehicle, a grey Nissan Qashqai, suffering extensive front-end damage.
The County Press has been told by officers at the scene that the driver of the Mini has fled the scene, and a search is ongoing.
The road is now blocked while crews from Bartletts Service Station recover the vehicles.
It is advised to avoid the area at this time.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have been contacted for a statement.
More to follow.
