A drunk teenager forced her way into her ex-partner's home and assaulted his mother, before attacking multiple door security staff at Isle of Wight pubs and bars.

Maisie Taylor, of Standen Avenue, Newport, previously pleaded guilty to five counts of assault by beating and a charge of criminal damage, and attended the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Friday, February 16.

Prosecuting, Munayah Hassan said the 19-year-old arrived at her ex-partner’s address on the evening of August 19, 2023, and forced entry.

Ms Hassan told the court Taylor damaged the garden gate and stamped on her ex-partner’s foot, causing bruising.

At 10pm, Taylor was removed from the Hogshead pub for being ‘too drunk’, the prosecutor said.

Court was told she sneaked back inside through a side door, before being kicked out again.

Ms Hassan said Taylor tried to sneak back into the pub for a second time but was spotted.

Two door supervisors attempted to restrain her but were both ‘hit in the face’, said Ms Hassan.

The court heard the door supervisors added Taylor’s name and description to a WhatsApp group, to alert other door staff in Newport.

At around 12.30am, on August 20, Taylor arrived at Fever and Boutique nightclub and was denied entry when she was recognised.

Ms Hassan said Taylor returned later and argued with the supervisor, hurling vile abuse at him and assaulting him.

A member of the public tried to intervene but was "slapped" by Taylor. Another supervisor said it "could be heard from some distance away," court heard.

Oscar Vincent, defending, said his client was immature and had exceptional circumstances impacting her mental state at the time.

She had not reoffended in the last six months, he said.

Mr Vincent told the court Taylor had suffered significant childhood trauma.

She had a history of alcohol and substance abuse, and had previously faced violence, which culminated in the evening’s events.

Mr Vincent said Taylor is horrified, deeply remorseful and ashamed of her actions, and has taken steps to tackle her alcohol and substance abuse issues, describing her as almost teetotal.

Magistrates accepted that the offence was a ‘one off’.

She was handed a 12-month community order, to include 35 rehabilitation days and must pay £50 compensation to each of her assault victims, and £30 for repairs to a garden gate.
