Isle of Wight charity Independent Arts has won three year's worth of grant funding, securing the future of its Creative Hub on Newport High Street.
The organisation's chief executive, Lisa Gagliani MBE said: "This couldn’t have come at a more crucial time. We’re delighted."
The money has been awarded by Reaching Communities and will be used to support Independent Arts' arts-based activities, enjoyed by hundreds of Islanders of all ages.
The charity says it must still fundraise for its outreach activities, including its SingAbout groups, because the grant is for activities at its HQ.
The cash is paying for operations manager, Ralph Ridler, who joined Independent Arts in 2020 and programme support officer Ali Atkinson, who joined in June, as well as some local artist-led sessions.
It also means a more secure future for creative project assistant, Evie Clarke, while Matt Hitt, becomes community development manager, from next month.
