Police are appealing for witnesses after an Isle of Wight shop worker allegedly had her nose broken in a robbery in East Cowes on Wednesday (February 14).
It was reported to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary that at around 7.50pm, a lone member of staff at Central Stores in Well Road, East Cowes, challenged an alleged shoplifter.
Police said the staff member was subsequently pushed into a glass fridge door, resulting in her nose being broken.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody at this time.
A police spokesperson said: "We believe there were other customers in the shop at the time who may have witnessed this incident, and urge anyone who saw what happened to please contact police."
