A popular Isle of Wight garden centre has clinched the prestigious title of the UK’s Best Christmas Garden Centre Team.

Busy Bee Garden Centre, on Brading Road in Ryde, took on over 330 contenders from across the nation in the Garden Trade News (GTN) Greatest Christmas Award.

GTN visited hundreds of centres during the festive season to find out more about the teams who light up the winter months with magical displays and seasonal events.

Earlier this month, Busy Bee was announced as the winner at the garden centre industry’s biggest trade show, the Spring Fair in Birmingham. 

During the final week of voting, Busy Bee found itself in a neck-and-neck race to top position before surging past its rivals. 

The win follows the garden centre’s restaurant, The Olive Tree, earning the accolade of best garden centre dining destination south of the Thames.

A spokesperson from Busy Bee Garden Centre said: “A big thank you to all our lovely staff for their hard work and dedication and thank you to our wonderful customers, without whose vote and support we could not have achieved this.”
