AN ISLE of Wight man accused of seriously assaulting and intentionally throttling his wife of 30 years will stand trial later this year.
Zak Newnham, of Reed Street, Ryde, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, February 9.
The 51-year-old denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour, in Ryde, between October 30, 2016, and March 14, 2023.
Mr Newnham saw his case adjourned for a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on March 11.
He was granted conditional bail.
