AN ISLE of Wight man who assaulted a woman at a railway station on the mainland has been sentenced.
Luke Connelly, of Cypress Road, Newport, appeared before Nottingham magistrates on Tuesday, January 30.
The 27-year-old denied assault by beating in Nottingham, on May 30 of last year, but was found guilty at trial.
He was also charged, and admitted, using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
The court heard he assaulted a woman at Attenborough Railway Station.
Connelly was made subject of a 12-month community order, to include 15 rehabilitation days.
He was ordered to pay a £114 surcharge.
