Isle of Wight museum and gallery, Dimbola, is staging a exhibition dedicated to author Charles Dickens.
The Technicolour Dickens: The Living Image of Charles Dickens was originally commissioned in 2020, to mark the 150th anniversary of the novelist’s death.
Now, Dimbola Museum and Galleries in Freshwater is hosting the show, to celebrate 175 years since the publication of David Copperfield, which was partially written whilst the author was staying in Ventnor.
A launch event was held this week, with plenty of costumes, while the show itself presents Dickens’ story through Victorian photography.
There is also a film by Jamie Langton, called ‘Dickens' Island’.
During his time here, Charles Dickens befriended Alfred Lord Tennyson who became godfather to his son, Alfred.
The exhibition runs until May 19.
