A town councillor has resigned on the Isle of Wight after admitting to drink driving.
Tom Hanley, of Ryde Town Council, appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on January 16.
The 62-year-old admitted to drink driving following an incident on December 30 for which he has yet to be sentenced.

Hanley was the newest member to join Ryde Town Council, and the Our Ryde group, in November 2022.
He resigned from his position, representing the Appley and Elmfield ward, in the days after his court appearance.
The notice of vacancy was filed on January 18.
Hanley's resignation was confirmed at the Ryde Town Council meeting last night, Monday, February 5, as well as the need for a by-election.
Once the seat was vacated, ten residents of the Appley and Elmfield ward had to confirm to the Isle of Wight Council they wanted to fill the gap on the town council through a by-election rather than by co-option.
A date for the by-election has not yet been confirmed, nor a deadline set for candidates to come forward.
