Two months after being slammed for poor standards, a Chinese takeaway on the Isle of Wight has managed to turn things around and secure a five-star food hygiene rating.
Ko-Sing, on Sandown Road, in Lake, was re-inspected by Isle of Wight Council environmental health officers last week.
The takeaway had been served a one-star, major improvement necessary rating, in November last year.
Council officers had found the conditions at the store were at risk of attracting pests, the general standard of hygiene was poor and staff were wearing dirty protective clothing.
Speaking after the rating, however, a spokesperson from the business said improvements had been made.
The corrections and changes to the business were noted by the inspectors on their return visit and the food hygiene rating has now been upgraded to a five-star 'very good'.
The takeaway was marked 'Good' in all areas for hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and management of food safety.
