An appeal has gone out to the Isle of Wight community, for keen gardeners and green-fingered volunteers to help out at Mountbatten's green spaces.
The gardens are important at the hospice, bringing comfort to many.
The beautiful gardens are the work of a small, dedicated team of volunteer gardeners - but more help is needed.
Volunteer Nicola, who has been part of the team for seven years, said: "Gardening is my outlet and its feel-good factor has often helped me to cope with stresses or sadness in my own life.
"I feel very privileged that my small efforts make such a huge difference to people’s experience of their time here, particularly when facing difficult moments”.
The team take on everything from watering, weeding and pruning, to planting new flowers and shrubs.
This year, for the first time, they will be taking part in the National Open Garden scheme.
Nicola said: "I love coming here and spending time in the gardens, but it would be lovely to have more volunteers on the team to help us.”
