The Red Funnel Red Jet passenger catamaran service has been missing one of its three vessels since the end of 2023 - Red Jet 4.
The vessel experienced problems during 2023, at one point returning to service then immediately breaking down.
On December 30, it was withdrawn from service due to a technical issue on its starboard main engine - an issue that was also causing problems the month before.
A week later, Red Funnel announced a revised timetable would be in place due to Red Jet 4 still being out of action, and Red Jet 7 going for its annual refit.
There have been no updates on Red Jet 4 since.
The County Press asked Red Funnel for some news.
A spokesperson from Red Funnel said: "The initial fault to the starboard engine was discovered on December 30, and she was taken out of service the same day.
“We’re working to resolve an ongoing engine issue. The vessel returning to service will be determined by the engineers working on her.”
While Red Jet 4 remains out of action, Red Jet 7 has returned to service after its refit, but Red Jet 6 has been withdrawn from service due to an oil leak.
The revised timetable has been extended to February 5 and currently there is a one-boat service.
